Fresh Nut Milk
As you guys probably know — I love my Almond Cow!! But I wanted to share a recipe for those of you that don’t have one yet :) There are also tons of recipes on the Almond Cow website.
This homemade nut milk means you’ll be without the fillers or gums that disrupt microbiome (and are added to store bought nut milks). It is also more environmentally friendly as you are not throwing away tons of cartons and plastic.
1 cup raw almonds
Purified water for soaking
additional 4 cups purified water for blending
Dash of Himalayan sea salt
Dash of cinnamon
Soak almonds in filtered water for 6-10 hrs (or overnight).
Drain and rinse several times after soaking.
Place almonds in blender along with 4 cups of water, dates, salt, and cinnamon.
Blend for 30-60 seconds.
Strain out the pulp using a nut milk bag or cheese cloth.
Pour into a container and store in the fridge - milk will keep for 3-4 days.
